Turbelle ORCA MK2 Oscillating Mount

Robotic sweep
Flow · Powerheads / Wavemakers

Not a pump — a motorized mount that physically sweeps a Tunze Turbelle powerhead ~180 degrees, painting flow across the whole tank from a single point. It adds spatial randomization a fixed pump cannot, and is the elegant fix for far-corner dead zones when all your flow lives on one end (peninsula / long tanks).

Summary

The ORCA MK2 is a carbon-fibre oscillating arm that slowly swings a compatible Turbelle pump back and forth ~180 degrees under app control. Instead of one fixed cone, you get a moving cone that sweeps the tank — so a single ORCA can cover a zone that would otherwise need two or three static powerheads. It's sold mount-only (bring your own Turbelle) or bundled with a 6075; pair it with a bigger 6105 for more swept flow.

Flow pattern

powerhead 7 W inherits paired pump: ~2,000 GPH (6075) to ~3,170 GPH (6105) flow range tank wall
DC controllable propeller throws a gyre-style flow stream — aim across the tank, not into the rock

What sells it / What holds it back

Pros
Physically sweeps flow — kills far-corner dead zones from one end
One ORCA can replace multiple static powerheads
Reuses a Turbelle pump you may already own (mount-only option)
Tunze build + 10+ yr parts support
Cons
Expensive — mount alone is ~$440 before a pump
A moving mechanical part in saltwater (more to maintain)
Needs a compatible Turbelle pump; no third-party pumps
