Tunze's flagship DOC skimmer family — six models from a 800 L lightly stocked AC build all the way to a 6,000 L commercial unit. The DC versions add controller integration and silent operation at lower speeds; the AC versions trade controllability for a lower price. Atlantis runs the 9410 DC. Pick variant size based on TOTAL system volume (tank + sump + frag area), not display alone.

Setup & dial-in

Week 1: run at 50% wet skim, water clean / no actual skimming. This is the break-in — surfactants from manufacturing have to flush.

Week 2-3: bump to 65-70% and let skimmate darken naturally.

Sweet spot for a stocked mixed reef: 65-75% DC. If you go above 85% you'll pull water as well as gunk — that's the cup-overflow trap.

Adjust water level with the gate valve, NOT the DC dial. Wider gate = wetter skim. Tighter gate = drier skim, more concentrated.
